This project was developed as part of a collaboration between Taqwa Bint Ali and adidas, where I was invited to design two footwear concepts that reflected the creative direction.

For this project, I was inspired by the narrative of the Dark Swan. Rather than showing ballet in a traditional image of softness and femininity, I explored its darker, more edgy energy.
The silhouette blends iconic adidas technology such as adiprene and bounce tooling with a more open leather based ballet inspired upper.

The color palette is dark silver monochromatic to bring an industrial, bold and confident look. We played with materials and finishes such as mesh, matte and glossy surfaces to bring depth to the design. The colosures are inspired by adidas vintage cycling shoes and the stitches on the vamp by the adidas predator football boots.
