How can Y-3 approach a formal wear category from it’s own voice, not as a an answer to any relevant fashion
trends but more as something timeless to merge sports and fashion in it’s authentic way.

This collection was inspired by Yohji accessories and the leather work done on gloves. By it finishes, treatment, softness, and minimal look. I tried to create the softest sneakers. This was
achieved with one asymetrical pattern and 0 overlay. The only detail is the stripes execution that is inspired by the gloves pipings.

To complement the capsule I added 2 styles inspired by policeman shoes (GSG9) . This capsule blend clear references from formal shoes as well as sneakers.

I always loved the work of artisanal fashion designer such as Boris Bidjan, Carol Christian Poel and Guidi, In this project I tried to blend my personal passion into my job.
